Hello everybody, it’s been a while.
I haven’t given up on the reviewing game, don’t worry, I’m just on a bit of a mini-hiatus as I’ve been busy with other things and I haven’t been able to write to a standard I’m happy with, but rest assured, the reviews will be coming back soon!
But that’s not what today is about, today is about a short film that some good friends of mine have entered into the “My Rode Reel” short film competition, it’s a Western/Sci-Fi hybrid, and I’m calling on you to head over and show your support to them.
I wasn’t involved in the production, although I kindly provided a sibling who did some graphic design work for them, but, I was fortunate enough to witness a large chunk of the process as they went from a story idea to a finished production. I saw how much time and effort they put into this endeavour to make it work, it certainly wasn’t without its challenges and they hit a few hurdles along the way, but they have overcome all of them and have ended up with something that they should be extremely proud of.
In this passage of our lives, I think many would agree that it becomes more difficult to pursue your passions, as the general demands of daily life take over. So seeing my friends being able to make this happen, doing the thing that they love, is admirable and great to see.
Please, help to reward them for their hard work, they’re not asking for much, all they want is for people to watch their film and perhaps leave a comment on it. It’s literally a 3-minute piece, so it’s not going to take up much of your day and it would certainly mean the world to them. They’ve worked so hard on this, they deserve the recognition, and they should be immensely proud of what they’ve done.
I look forward to seeing what Aperture 5 do next!
